What are Google Ads and How can they Help Your Business?

It isn’t a secret, our target audiences are online. In order to get in front of your target audience, this means you need to advertise your product or service online too!

You’ve probably heard of Google Ads or what was formerly Google Adwords. Google Ads is the most prominent digital advertising available. According to www.hootsuite.com,  “People use Google to search 3.5 billion times a day. Each search offers opportunities for you to get your brand in front of more users.”

So how can Google Ads generate leads and awareness for your brand?

Google Ads is a PPC (pay-per-click) form of digital advertising. This means you choose specific keywords on Google and make “bids” on the keyword.

PPC advertising allows you to determine and set your ad budget. Google allows you to set a maximum bid per click or set a maximum daily budget for the ad campaign. There are three types of bidding for Google Ads: Cost-per-Click (CPC), Cost-per-mille (CPM) and Cost-per-engagement (CPE). Cost-per-click determines how much you pay when someone clicks on your ad. Cost-per-mille determines how much you pay per 1,000 ad impressions and cost-per-engagement determines how much you pay when someone engages the action on your ad. Google will take your bid value and combine it with an overall assessment of the ad to create a “Quality Score,” from 1-10. The higher the score, the better your ad will rank, resulting in spending less on conversions.

Gone are the days of paying hundreds or thousands of dollars on a single ad and hoping the correct target audience sees it. Now you can position your brand in front of your best prospects. You choose the keywords, audience and the price you’re willing to spend.

Google provides  three types of ads: search ads, display ads and responsive ads.

Google Search Ads appear as a text ad in the results page on google. You choose keywords consumers use to search for your products and services. Don’t worry if you can’t think of every keyword because Google will make suggestions during your campaign. Check out Google’s keyword planner tool.

Google Display Ads serve digital ads on websites, games and mobile apps across the Google display network. “Google partners with more than two million websites and reaches more than 90% of all internet users,” according to www.hootsuite.com. Using Google display ads to promote your business positions your message in front of the most people possible at an affordable rate

Power up your business with Google Responsive Ads. Unlike display ads,  these are responsive to the device the ad is being viewed on. You pick the best headlines, descriptions and images to represent your business and Google mixes and matches them to find the most effective combinations.

Using Google Ads to build your brand, sell your products and services could be one of the best decisions you make for your business! You are able to get your product or service in front of more targeted people because the audience is vast and the cost is low.
